Our Bilingual Program needs to recruit 3 new teachers – one kindergarten English teacher, one primary maths and science teacher, and one English (plus a little maths and science) teacher. We are looking for friendly, dedicated teachers to start in May 2010.

Assumption College’s Bilingual Program has been running at primary and secondary levels for 12 years, and has included kindergarten level for the last 4 years. We employ a total of 10 foreign teachers in our department, and several Thai team teachers.

We are currently looking to recruit 3 new teachers, for a 1-year teaching contract starting at the beginning of May 2010. Teaching hours are typically 18 – 22 hours per week, and this coming year hours will not exceed 20. For the school year May 2010 to April 2011, the hours are provisionally set as follows, but applicants should be aware that these could change slightly, so flexibility is a must:

• Teacher 1: Maths P1-4 (age 6-10) and Science P3.
• Teacher 2: English P4 and M1, Maths P5 and P6, and Science P5 (ages from 9-13). (Most of the hours are teaching English)
• Teacher 3: Kindergarten English teacher, K1-K3 (age 3-6). To teach six 40-minute periods per day.

All applicants should be native speakers of English, enthusiastic, caring and responsible. They should have experience teaching at the appropriate level, and for maths and science should be able to demonstrate knowledge and enthusiasm for the subject.

All our teachers are expected to take a full role in school life – this means not just teaching, but being in the teachers office throughout the school day, and taking part in morning assembly, a weekly meeting, and various extra-curricular activities such as English camps, clubs, parentsmeeting day, show night, etc etc!

Some knowledge of Thai culture and language would be an advantage – especially for the kindergarten teacher, as you would be working almost entirely with Thai teachers. All teachers will have Thai team teachers for most or all of their classes, so the ability to work together is essential.

We offer a salary of 30,000 Baht per month (-5% for taxes and insurance) 11 weeks paid holiday per year, Bupa health insurance, and a friendly and supportive working environment.
