Scope of Work:
Program Director is responsible for developing and maintaining overall academic curriculum and syllabus of the school while ensuring the educational standards set by the school are met. His/her jobs include overseeing all the subjects in the syllabus, finding effective teaching methods to facilitate the learning of all students, researching best appropriate educational resources to supplement the syllabus, supervising and training Department Head, Deputies, teachers and staff to perform their expected functions effectively.
Job Description:
1. Develop new curricula and syllabus consistent with school vision, mission and philosophy.
2. Ensure the curriculum and syllabus objectives are met.
3. Ensure a safe and orderly environment that encourages students to take responsibility for behavior and creates high morale among staff and students.
4. Provide leadership, professional guidance and problem-solving for Department
Head/Deputies.
5. Coach and train teachers and staff to create effective learning environment for students.
6. Coordinate with other departments to develop learning objectives, design learning outcomes,
learning activities and other school activities.
7. Plan, organize and direct daily operations for all the staff to achieve departmental goals.
8. Provide teacher supports and advice concerning appropriate practices, use of educational materials and techniques for academic achievements.
9. Conduct performance reviews and evaluations for both teaching and non-teaching staff.
10. Establish and manage academic partnership program with educational institutions and
organizations both locally and internationally.
11. Maintain positive, cooperative, and mutually supportive relationships with staff and parents.
12. Accountable for student enrollment as well as student progress and development in the program.
13. Hire qualified teachers and staff as needed and act on hiring and terminating personnel on behalf of the school.
14. Monitor and control department’s and program’s budgets.
15. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in any fields, preferably in Education, from an accredited educational institution.
2. Minimum 5 years of teaching experience and 3 years of managerial position with curricula development and implementation experience.
3. Excellent written and verbal communication, must be proficient in English.
4. Strong interpersonal, presentation and written communication skills.
5. Excellent analytical and abstract reasoning skills with ability to think globally and act locally.
6. Ability to generate sound solutions to the problems.
7. Strives to continually build skills and share expertise with others.
8. Willing to stay in Chiang Mai, Thailand for at least one or two years.
