The English Immersion Program at Bangkok Christian College, Secondary Level, is accepting applications for an immediate opening in the Mathematics Department of our English Immersion Program. We are looking for a highly professional, diligent, and dynamic teacher who enjoys teaching in a high-school environment. The positions will begin immediately upon successful completion of the interview process.
All teachers at BCC are scheduled to teach 20 periods each week, 50 minutes each, and not more than 22 periods including substitutions. Teachers are also required to attend regular staff meetings, and one or two Saturdays over the course of the year for parent-teacher conferences and other school functions. The school uses high quality Western textbooks and has excellent resources available.
This position is beginning a few weeks into the second semester and will run until the end of the academic year. A short-term contract will be in place for the duration of the academic year and all legal paperwork will be processed for any candidate hired. We are looking for the right teacher for the long-term and we if there is a good fit between the teacher hired and the school then the position will become permanent with a one-year contract beginning in May 2011.
Following are the terms and conditions for a one year employment contract. Please note that because this position starts mid-year all benefits listed below will be prorated based upon the actual time worked.
The annual starting salary is between 652,000 and 856,000 baht depending on qualifications and duties assigned. This includes a 40,000 baht contract completion bonus. Work permit, health insurance, and lunch are provided. All official holidays are paid and the teacher will receive 7 sick days per year. There will be approximately 8 weeks of holiday per year.
Again, please note that all remunerations and benefits will be prorated for the shortened term of employment due to the late starting date.
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- You must be a native English speaker from The United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, or South Africa. If you are not a native English speaker you will not be considered for any position at BCC.
- Hold a Bachelor degree or higher in a relevant subject area
- Applicants with Masters or Education degrees and/or teaching credentials are particularly encouraged to apply
- Minimum of two years experience teaching in a High School, preferably in Thailand
- Provide original education diplomas, certificates, and transcripts. The school will not consider any applicant for employment who cannot provide these documents at the time of the initial interview. No exceptions will be made.
