Sapphawitthayakhom School, Mae Sot’s largest public high school, is seeking a qualified individual to teach Social Studies and English in the school’s Multi-lingual program beginning the first week of January, 2015. Duties include teaching students in Grades 7 through 12 for up to 22 contact hours per week and assessing student performance and improvement. Teachers will also be expected to develop suitable lesson plans based on curricula set by Thailand’s Ministry of Education. Applicants should be flexible and comfortable working in a multicultural environment.
Qualifications:
Successful applicants will be native English Speakers or be able to demonstrate mastery in speaking, listening, reading, and writing in English. Applicants should also possess an undergraduate or graduate degree in relevant subject areas from an accredited institution, and be certified to teach English as a foreign language. Previous teaching experience, particularly in areas related to economics, geography, civics, and world religions, is strongly preferred. Applicants must possess a valid passport, be able to pass a required physical examination, and be able to secure (with School assistance) an employment visa and work permit.
