“Teaching English in Thailand is most of all great fun, you will be surrounded by children who desperately want to learn and improve their English. The School year runs from May to March with a full month break in October (perfect for exploring the rest of the country!)

We have placements available across southern Thailand, if you have a certain place in mind let us know and we will do our best to find a school in your chosen area.

General Information

Duration: The contracts are for 1 or 2 semesters beginning in May or October. The 10-month programs include a 2-month vacation.

Teaching hours: 20-26 hours/week, Monday through Friday.

Salary: 30,000 Thai baht per month. This is more than enough to live comfortably, given the low cost-of-living, plus to explore during your weekends or vacation time.

If you specialize in Science or Mathematics your salary will be 35 000-40,000 Thai baht.

Accommodations: We will make arrangements for you to rent a comfortable, private bedroom in an apartment building or house share. It will cost you around 3,000-5,000 Thai baht each month.

To teach English in Thailand, you’ll need to have a TEFL certificate, which involves taking a course and completing online training. You can do the required training in your native country or through our company once you’ve arrived.

Upon arrival, the first month will be spent training. During this training, candidates will be learning the methodology used in Road Experience. Upon successful completion of the training, candidates will be offered a long term contract.

Once in Thailand, candidates will be required to pay a fee of 15 000 Thai baht, this will cover the expense of orientation and the training required to teach with our company. During orientation, candidates will learn about Thai culture, language, and the way of life in Thailand and will also have the opportunity to do activities such as rafting and to visit some of the very best attractions that southern Thailand has to offer.

Orientation: All participants will receive a 3-day orientation during the first week in Thailand. In a friendly and relaxing way, we will orient you to Thai culture, Thai language, general information about Thailand, and most importantly, information about our organization.

Health Insurance: Covered by employer

Requirements:

Minimum age: 20

BA/BS degree in any field

120-hour TEFL/TESOL certificate (which you can complete with us)

Native English speakers are highly preferred, and for them the teaching experience requirement is waived.

For Non-native speakers: at least 1 year of English teaching experience is required, and English skills must be proficient.

Duties:

Engage in on-going professional development.

Respect and care about your students.

Be well-informed and sensitive to Thai culture.

Use both modern and traditional teaching methods.

Make every lesson a worthwhile experience for the students.

Be in the southern part of Thailand and ready for your first day of work.

PROFILE:
Must possess a degree from an international hotel school.

POSITION DEMANDING CLOSE LIAISON:
Reports to the Director of the Training Centre, will interact with students, customers of the vocational restaurant, cost controller and food & beverage suppliers.

MAIN DUTIES & ACTIVITIES:

PRACTICAL TRAINING:
In the vocational restaurant, the instructor’s main activity is to transmit to students the basic skills for employment in hospitality. Besides, the instructor prepares students for the diploma delivered by the Thai Ministry of Education.

OPERATION:
As a professional in his field the instructor is responsible for the economic well-being of its department (Maintaining the highest level of customer satisfaction at the vocational restaurant, controlling costs and maximizing revenues). The instructor is responsible for the overall cleanliness and maintenance of a multi-million baht training facility.

ADMINISTRATIVE:
Instructors are required to fulfil administrative duties (Elaboration of teaching plans, students’ evaluation & attendance, weekly, monthly and semester reports)

COMPENSATION:
Salary according to experience. Accommodation allowance. Meals while on duty. Training and preparation for the Teacher Certification for candidates with potential.
