Academic Administrator Wanted
One Academic Administrator wanted to manage a staff of seven teachers, 5 Native Speakers and two Filipinos, at two connected schools (next door to each other), in Patumthani Province. The schools are very far from main roads and public transportation, in the middle of the country and all that entails. You should like the country life versus the city life.
Transportation between the school and Future Park Rangsit Mall will be provided, free of charge. If you own a car, and want to use your own car, or would rather arrange your own transportation, we will provide a fuel/travel allowance of 3,000 Baht per month.
You would be responsible for managing any and all aspects of the day to day operations of this teaching staff and would have one Thai Administrative Assistant, who speaks, reads and writes English well enough to communicate with you (but not fluent). Applicants who can speak Thai will receive preference.
Your regular working hours would be from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday, but you would sign a contract to be available for up to 50 hours per week, with no overtime, although we would only rarely call on you for overtime work.
Your nationality is not important. Your attitude is. We want someone who can work positively and harmoniously with Thai government teachers, Thai students and Thai parents.
Your immediate supervisor is me, an American who has lived, taught and been an academic administrator here for more than 10 years.
The salary and benefits package is as follows:
1) Salary starts at 60,000 Baht per month and goes up, depending on qualifications and experience
2) Free transportation, to and from work, or a 3,000 Baht per month fuel/travel allowance
3) We will pay your entire cel phone bill each month, for calls within Thailand.
4) We will pay provide you with a Non-Immigrant Visa and Work Permit. You will have to pay for them up front, a 5,000 Baht total, and we will reimburse you in your final month of your contract.
5) You, as well as your spouse and children, can receive Thai National Health Care Insurance. We will deduct 750 Baht from your pay each month, as employers are required to do by Thai law, which we will match.
The contract would begin on May 1st, 2011 and end on April 3oth, 2012.
In addition, we have an on staff accountant, who can do your taxes for you, and try to get you a refund, or you can take care of your own taxes.
You do not need to possess a Bachelor Degree, although those who do will receive preference.
You will have to arrange substitute teachers, or substitute teach yourself if necessary, when teachers you manage are absent.
You will have to provide us with a document, from your country of citizenship, proving that you have no felony convictions or outstanding warrants against you. Copies are not enough. We will need a new, sealed set of these documents sent directly to our school, which we will open together, in front of witnesses.
Applicants with prior experience in Academic Administration, especially within Thailand, will receive preference.
