Secondary School Math, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology Teachers are Needed for the Upcoming Academic Year (2017-2108) at a New International Military Preparatory Academy

Gainesville International School Chiang Rai (GIS) is a new international military academy with a rigorous curriculum based on that of the Riverside Military Academy in Georgia, USA. Founded by Police General Prasan Wongyai, Ph.D., the school is in Mae Sai, one hour north of Chiang Rai—just a stone’s throw from the border with Myanmar. GIS is the first military academy in Thailand with the objective of preparing students to attend military colleges and universities in the United States.

We are seeking additional teachers to complete our staff as we prepare for our inaugural academic year. Our students will be in grades 7 through 12. We are looking for Math, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology teachers. We offer competitive pay and benefits in a unique and beautiful work environment. The ideal candidate is an American native English speaker, with teaching and military experience, currently residing in Thailand, and who wishes to remain in Thailand long-term. Employment would begin in May-June 2017.

Qualifications:
• American NES
• Bachelor’s Degree or higher (preference given to degrees in education or relevant content area wishing)
• TEFL/TESOL Certification or established ESL teaching experience
• Basic Office and IT Skills
• Military experience, though not a pre-requisite, is strongly preferred
• Willingness to commit to active participation as a team member in establishing and developing a unique educational institute
• Interested in forming and developing young men and women into individuals of character
• Preference is given to applicants presently residing in Thailand and who wish to remain in Thailand for the foreseeable future

Benefits Include:
• Starting salary is a minimum of 35,000 baht per month- (experience, skills and qualifications, etc. will be considered)
• 12-month academic year, renewable for additional years and benefits

Working Conditions:
• School hours are approximately 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday.
