Khon Kaen University is seeking a full-time experienced foreign English Lecturer. Although we would prefer a native speaker, other applicants will be considered for this position.
Requirements:
We would prefer someone with a Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in English/ Literature/Applied Linguistics/ TEFL/TESOL/Education/Business or related majors.
Must have experience with computers (Microsoft Office, Excel, etc.), a good personality and high personal standards. Also requires excellent planning and organizational skills, as you will have a high degree of freedom in running your class.
Description:
Teaching English for Communication, Academic Purposes and Business Related Courses.
Preparing Classroom materials, homework and hands as well as evaluating student’s performance.
You are also requested to occasionally contribute to extracurricular student’s language activities.
You must be able to relax and go with the flow!
The Positives:
You will not have required office hours.
The University is private and does not have teaching restrictions present for public schools in Thailand.
You will not have to work a full 12 months, but you will be paid for the entire year.
We will help you navigate your Visa and Work Permit. We are familiar with processing these documents and Vientiane, Laos is only 10 minutes from our Campus.
The Negatives:
We are a small satellite campus and there is not much to do here, as we are about 12 kms outside Nong Khai City.
Some classes will have teaching materials prepared, but you will also be responsible for creating content for other courses, as needed.
Thai Assistant Teachers are not available.
There is not a high level of spoken English in and around the campus, so it would be better if you had at least some Basic Thai Language Skills.

This job would be ideal for someone who is looking for a relaxed environment and thrives with a great deal of autonomy. You will be joining two other foreigner teachers, who spend much of their time traveling when they’re not in the classroom.
