Full-time Primary 1-5 and M1 Native English Homeroom Teacher

Saritdidet School is a government school with a well-established English program, friendly, easy-going staff, excellent resources and staff support. There are currently 18 native English-speaking teachers teaching in the English Program and most of them are long-term employees. The English Program at Saritdidet School is reputable and has had positive results, including one student winning the gold award at the “Jewel in the Crown” national English competition and others winning national speech contests. In fact, our school is so successful that we are looking to expand the English Program.

The EP teachers for each grade will be responsible for teaching one class (maximum size 36 students) eight subjects, for 18 hours per week; English 8 hrs, science 2 hrs, math's 3 hrs, health 1 hr, art 1 hr, PE 1 hr, careers and technology 1 hr and club 1 hr. You will work alongside a Thai homeroom teacher, who teaches the remaining hours and in addition, you’ll have an English speaking Thai co-teacher present in your class, to assist you.

We provide a monthly salary (starting at B30,000 per month and subject to change each year), work permit and Thai health insurance scheme. The successful candidates must pay for their own visas. There is also an opportunity to earn extra by teaching a few extra hours per week. We offer assistance with visas and work permits.

In return, you are expected to be punctual and present during office hours, which are 7:45am - 4:00pm, 2 terms per year; mid May until around 10th October and then November until April. The first 3 months are considered a (paid) probationary period, and then you will be invited to sign a year's contract. You will also be expected to help to train students for competitions, such as speech, storytelling, spelling bee and other contests. There may also be field trips, training and seminars that you would be expected to attend.

The right candidates will be native English speakers with a degree qualification, EFL certificate and at least a year's experience of teaching. We are unable to recruit applicants without at least a 3 year degree certificate such as BA or BSC in any discipline.
