Full-time Full Time M3 Maths Teacher

This job is located at Kanlayaneesithammarat School in Nakhon Sri Thammarat

Expected salary: At least 30,000 Baht/month
Published on: 15-07-2010

Maths teacher required for our M3 students.

We would like only 1st language English speakers from either the UK / USA / CAN / NZ / AUS / SA! Ideally, you’ll be experienced, an energetic team player, get on well with students and of course be qualified for the job you are applying for. A good knowledge of computers including the Microsoft Office Suite would be advantageous. You will also be required to take part in our English Camps, which are actually very good fun because that’s just the way we make them! In the last couple of years alone, we have taken students to Singapore, Malaysia, the UK, the Philippines, Australia and of course various places within Thailand.

Kanlayanee will offer you a renewable 12 month contract, a starting salary of B32,000/month with an annual rise and Work Permit. The initial non-immigrant visa is the responsibility of the teacher although assistance will be given to aid your application if needed. However all other costs for visa extensions etc will be met by us. Contract teaching hours are no more than 18 fifty-minute periods a week with weekends and all government holidays off, and all in a very happy working atmosphere. A chance to travel the region by participating in our many English Camps.

Kanlayaneesithammarat School is a large government school situated in the heart of Nakhonsithammarat City. The school itself has over 3,000 students of which there are approximately 250 who study within the English Program. At present there are 10 teachers within the program, 7 of whom are non Thai. 3 of our foreign teachers have been at Kanlayanee for more than 8 years! The English Program at Kanlayanee is fortunate in that it has great students and a happy dedicated workforce, resulting in a very relaxed working atmosphere. The EP is housed in it’s own building, only recently renovated. All classrooms are air-conditioned and are equipped with whiteboards, overhead projectors, internet etc. We also have a modern computer lab should you wish to do lessons using the internet. Kanlayanee EP is also proud to be the first English Program in Southern Thailand to have a fully equipped ‘E-Classroom’, complete with full internet connected audio/video and in addition, each member of staff has their own desktop PC and/o laptop as well as a good bank of other resources. We are proud to say that we recently came in first place in a competition for all the Government English Programs in Southern Thailand and we would like to retain that position in upcoming years.

Nakhonsithammarat is a large Thai town situated on the South East coast some 800km from Bangkok and 200km north of Hadyai. If you like the islands or nice beaches, they are all only a few hours away. Phuket 4hrs. Koh Samui/Phangngan 3/4hrs. Krabi 2hrs.

This is not Bangkok! We have no BurgerKings or McDonalds (We do however have KFC and Pizza Co.) and there is not a great choice when it comes to nightlife and/or dining out. However, it is big enough to have a TescoLotus, Carrefour and a number of other department stores. Accommodation in Nakhon is cheap. A 3 bed-room house with garden starts at around B4,500/month and apartments can be had for less. There is a fair sized ‘farang’ population here with people coming from America, Canada, Scandinavia, Europe, Australia, New Zealand etc etc. Most people coming to Nakhon for only a year or so, end up liking it so much that they are still here years later!

  • The position involves teacheing both Maths to M3 students and English to M2 students. If you’re interested in the position or would like to know more, please ask your questions or send your resume along with a recent photo to:
